Roessingh Research and Development (RRD) is a research and development SME in the area of rehabilitation technology and telemedicine with strong formalized links to one of the largest rehabilitation center in the Netherlands (Roessingh Rehabilitation Center) and the University of Twente. The mission of RRD is to carry out scientific research and contribute to its valorization and implementation in clinical practice, by close cooperation with clinical centers and industry.
RRD has extensive experience in all stages of the development of innovative health care services; from initial scenario development with all stakeholders, technology development (ambulant sensing, IT services platform, Decision Support system), user studies focused on usability and user satisfaction and large scale clinical evaluation studies up to implementation of new services in daily clinical practice.
This experience has been gained in many large national projects (Awareness, Smart Surroundings, ExoZorg) and international projects (eWall, Perssilaa, HelloDoc, New, CLEAR, IS-Active, Myotel, Navmem, HealthNavigator). RRD has intensive cooperation with various health care institutions like general practitioners, physiotherapists, hospitals, care and nursing home organizations and a specialized clinic for dementia in the surrounding area (Twente). Twente is also one of the reference sites within the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Aging (EIP-AHA). RRD has an excellent network in Europe with many clinical centers, companies and Universities and has participated in over 25 European projects.
The role in the Project
Within this project RRD will bring in their extensive experience with the development of innovative health care services. Via a pro-active, co-creation action research approach, RRD will enable all partners to gain the maximum out of the project. RRD will be responsible for WP2 “Business models and ICT solutions for digital services”. Within this work package they will work on several task and activities and align with all partners on continuous work in other work packages. All-in-all, with the focus on the development of home support services that enable the older adult to optimize their functional status.
