Year 2 Review – Getafe

Category : DECI events , DECI news

On 27th of June, all the partners of the Consortium met the European Project Officer and the reviewers in Getafe to present the results obtained at the end of the second year of the project.
The DECI partners also met each other on 26th of June to prepare the meeting and the 28th to organize the third year activities based on the suggestions received by the reviewers.
During the meeting the Consortium has shown a video tutorial to describe how the DECI platform works for the patient. Moreover, during the meeting we had a skype call with a patient at home in Sweden to interact with a real patient enrolled in a DECI pilot.
At the end of July, the consortium received the results of the review: thanks to the collaboration of all partners, all the submitted deliverables were accepted and we can work on the third year of DECI project, leveraging also the useful feedbacks and recommendations collected in the review process.
In October we will hold a Consortium meeting in Goteborg to compare the first data collection of the four pilots (in Italy, Sweden, Spain and Israel).

Co-Creation Workshop on patients’ needs for improvement in care processes: Italy

Category : DECI news

A Co-Creation Workshop is a participative session involving both members of the DECI Project and external subjects, tackling Project themes from the different points of view of the various involved participants. The Workshop follows a pre-determined protocol to guide a multidisciplinary brainstorm and discussion among involved stakeholders, in order to stimulate out-of-the-box thinking and feed following research activities.

The Co-Creation Workshop at the Italian Pilot Site was held on October 12th-13th at Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi ONLUS.

12 participants were involved in the discussion, gathering subjects from management roles, as well as caregivers and family members. Divided in heterogeneous groups depending on their background and perspective on Cognitive Impairment, the participants expressed their perspectives on the present care model at Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi ONLUS, suggesting open issues and improvement starting points.

Using this conversation as a starting point, brainstorming sessions pushed all participants to prioritize open issues and areas of improvement and, from there, to the identification of potential solutions and promising technology-enabled functionalities they would be interesting in seeing applied within existing process boundaries.

The workshop laid the foundations for further analysis, focused on the definition of ideal scenarios that could be envisioned in response to identified issues, starting from participants’ suggestions and perspectives.

By exploiting different design methodologies, this theoretical scenario was detailed with the specific Italian context in mind: its main characteristics provided valuable inputs for the subsequent definition of a preliminary business model, therefore feeding following DECI Project activities. The Italian Co-Creation Workshop proved to be a valuable starting point for following workshops in the other DECI Pilot Project countries.
