A Co-Creation Workshop is a participative session involving both members of the DECI Project and external subjects, tackling Project themes from the different points of view of the various involved participants. The Workshop follows a pre-determined protocol to guide a multidisciplinary brainstorm and discussion among involved stakeholders, in order to stimulate out-of-the-box thinking and feed following research activities.
The Co-Creation Workshop at the Italian Pilot Site was held on October 12th-13th at Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi ONLUS.
12 participants were involved in the discussion, gathering subjects from management roles, as well as caregivers and family members. Divided in heterogeneous groups depending on their background and perspective on Cognitive Impairment, the participants expressed their perspectives on the present care model at Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi ONLUS, suggesting open issues and improvement starting points.
Using this conversation as a starting point, brainstorming sessions pushed all participants to prioritize open issues and areas of improvement and, from there, to the identification of potential solutions and promising technology-enabled functionalities they would be interesting in seeing applied within existing process boundaries.
The workshop laid the foundations for further analysis, focused on the definition of ideal scenarios that could be envisioned in response to identified issues, starting from participants’ suggestions and perspectives.
By exploiting different design methodologies, this theoretical scenario was detailed with the specific Italian context in mind: its main characteristics provided valuable inputs for the subsequent definition of a preliminary business model, therefore feeding following DECI Project activities. The Italian Co-Creation Workshop proved to be a valuable starting point for following workshops in the other DECI Pilot Project countries.
